Greeting! I am excited to share with you what has being going on in my life lately. God has placed upon me a strong call towards missions! I found out about Adventures in Missions(AIM) over a year ago and have recently applied to their First Year Missionary Internship program to South Africa. I am very excited to share with you that I have been accepted! I plan to leave September 8th 2008 and will be gone for 9 months, returning May 15th 2009.
My greatest passion is to serve God and share his love with others. God has built into me a compassion for the disadvantaged people around the world. I have longed to minister in a place where people are hungry for the Lord. God’s greatest commandment is to love one another, and I believe sharing the gospel is the greatest act of love we can give others. During this trip I will have the privilege to minister to people who need to know of salvation through Jesus Christ. I will also be blessed with training and discipleship in various areas of ministry and missions that will help me serve the Lord in the future.
I thank God for this opportunity that is before me and trust that He will bless this mission opportunity! You have the opportunity to join in this ministry with me as well! I would be honored if you would partner with me in this ministry through prayer and financial support. The harvest is plenty but the workers are few! Let us work together to bring in the harvest!
I am specifically asking for five to ten people to commit to pray for me and the mission each day until I return. Also I must raise $6,950 to go towards AIM, which includes housing, food, ministry materials and local transportation. Also I must raise enough to cover insurance, medical needs and airfare. That is a total of $10,000 that will be needed to serve the Lord through this mission trip. Before going I must have the money to pay for my flights and 60% of the $6,950 in my AIM account, and the rest in pledges. A number of you may be in the position to financially contribute to this ministry opportunity. I calculated that if only five people gave $100/month for 10 months, five people gave $50/month for 10 months, 10 people gave $25/month for 8-10 months and the rest in one time gifts, then I would have enough to cover the expenses.
