A few nights ago I was out picking strawberries in my garden. It was easy to tell that it was about to rain, the clouds were dark and heavy and the air was very moist. Far off in the background you could faintly hear it, slowly rolling closer, thunder. I stopped picking strawberries, sat on my top deck and took out my Bible.

“At this also my heart trembles, and leaps from its place. Hear attentively the thunder of His voice, and the rumbling that comes from His mouth. He sends it forth under the whole heaven, His lightning to the ends of the earth. After it a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, and He does not restrain them when His voice is heard. God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend.”
(Job 37:1-5)

I sat on my deck until it rained, with Bible in hand, listening to our Lord speak. In awe of the greatness that is He. Then the sky opened and the rain came pouring down, lightning lit the sky and thunder shook my house.

With God is awesome majesty.

  1. What an awesome experience! Don’t you feel closer to God in his creation?? Creation is just God’s raw creativity and it blows my mind just thinking about how He made everything for us!
